CLS Advisor Barnett Presents at NACADA Regional Conference

Stephanie Barnett, an undergraduate academic advisor in the Criminology, Law and Society Department, and Jon May, Associate Director of Mason's Center for Academic Advising, recently made a well-received presentation at the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference held in Pittsburgh, PA.  Ms. Barnett and Mr. May presented Better Together: Supporting New and Experienced Advisors through Peer Mentorship, which highlighted many facets of their co-created Advisor Mentorship Program (AMP).  AMP was designed by Ms. Barnett and Mr. May two years ago to foster and strengthen a team-oriented advising culture at Mason, blending a collaborative work environment with a strategic focus on well-being that nurtures professional development, engagement among peers, and advisor retention.  The conference attendees gave the presentation extremely positive reviews.  Congratulations to Ms. Barnett and Mr. May on the continuing success of AMP and on the high ratings they received for their presentation at the NACADA Conference!
