Parham Receives Undergraduate Apprenticeship Program Award

Criminology, law and society major Sarah Parham was recently awarded a prestigious undergraduate research apprenticeship. The Undergraduate Apprenticeship Program at George Mason pairs high-achieving undergraduate students with faculty mentors to undertake original research or creative projects. Each apprentice receives a $1,000 stipend for the semester and participates in twelve hours of research-related activities each week. In addition, they get $100 to cover materials such as posters, lab supplies, and equipment.

Parham's faculty sponsors, Dr. Cynthia Lum and Dr. David Weisburd, will incorporate Sarah into the research projects of the Center for Evidence-Based Crime Policy, specifically focusing on understanding juvenile diversion processes of the police. Sarah has been on the Dean's List since 2007 and is one of the Department of Criminology, Law and Society's outstanding undergraduates.

Congratulations Sarah!
