Doctoral students Stephanie Ainsworth and Jennifer Lerch wrote the inaugural article, which focuses on cognitive-behavioral therapy programs for higher-risk offenders.

Taxman and Rudes Publish Op-Ed on Imprisonment

Professors Faye Taxman and Danielle Rudes of the Department of Criminology, Law and Society published an op-ed in The Free Lance-Star in April titled "Far better ways to fight crime than imprisonment." The article discusses how the primary mechanism for crime fighting in the United States for the last 30 years has focused on building and expanding the capacity of our prison systems which translates into a runaway incarceration system that does not deter criminal behavior.
