The Criminology, Law and Society Student Association (CLSSA) is pleased to present a talk by Dr. Jon Gould of American University, where he is a professor in the Department of Justice, Law, and Criminology.  He is also the Director of the Law and Sciences Program at the National Science Foundation.

A lawyer and a social scientist, Dr. Gould combines empirical research with public advocacy to advance government reform and administration.  His work focuses on civil rights and liberties, justice policy, and legal change, helping to make academic research relevant and accessible.  At this guest seminar, Dr. Gould will focus on the topics of erroneous convictions and indigent defense.
