Dennis Staszak is a graduate of Criminal Justice Studies at the University of Wisconsin. In addition to his M.A. and his M.S., he has done graduate work at the University of Virginia and Institute of World Politics. He previously served for three years on active duty in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era, and is a graduate of advanced language studies at the Defense Language Institute. Professor Staszak is a thirty-three year veteran of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and has investigated numerous criminal matters. He specializes in foreign counterintelligence investigations and previously served as the Deputy Unit Chief of the FBI’s Foreign Counterintelligence and Counterterrorism Training Unit. Prior to retirement, Professor Staszak instructed new agents and senior police executives at the FBI Academy, FBI National Academy, and many international police training facilities. Starting in March 2007, Professor Staszak has taught a graduate course in Intelligence Theory and Applications for Law Enforcement Managers attending the FBI National Academy.
