Chelsea Foudray (née van Dijk) is a postdoctoral researcher in the Early Justice Strategies Lab. She received her Ph.D. in Criminology, Law and Society from George Mason University in 2023. She graduated with her B.S. in Criminal Justice & Criminology and her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Mount Olive, NC in 2017. She earned her M.A. in Criminology, Law and Society from George Mason University in 2020. Her research interests include legal decision making, community supervision, criminal justice organizations, corrections, and the intersection of law and psychology. 

Originally from Maastricht, the Netherlands, she traveled to the United States to further her education while running track. During her undergraduate degrees, she worked as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant in the Psychology department. She took a year after graduating with her bachelor's degrees to work in the Academic Resource Center at UMO, to help students with academic difficulties.
