Michael Donovan has served as a Department of Defense civilian since 2004. He started his professional career in the U.S. Army, serving in the United States and overseas, including operational service in the Persian Gulf War and Iraq. He retired from the Army in 2014 with the rank of Colonel after 30 years of combined active and reserve Army service.
