Sydney Ingel is a doctoral student in Criminology, Law and Society at George Mason University. She previously worked as a graduate research assistant at the Center for Advancing Correctional Excellence (ACE!) on qualitative projects related to peer recovery specialists, probation officers, and people who live and work in correctional facilities. She still works at ACE! as a consultant, but she primarily works at the Early Justice Strategies (EJS) lab where she is quantitatively and qualitatively exploring pretrial defendants’ perceptions of their risks and needs during the pretrial period.
