Policing, crime and place, law enforcement technology, experimental criminology

Sean Wire is a PhD student in the Criminology, Law and Society department. His research interests include policing, crime and place, law enforcement technology, and experimental criminology.

               As a former research assistant at the CEBCP, Sean worked for Dr. Weisburd on the NIDA Community Health and Safety Project in Baltimore. His Master’s Thesis comes from this project and looks at how perceptions of police are affected by police proactivity. Sean also worked on a project for the DHS Criminal Investigation and Network Analysis [CINA] Center of Excellence, examining the impact of investigations on gang violence and recruitment using agent-based modeling. 

               Sean is a past President of the Police Research Group, which is a student led organization focused on conducting and contributing research to the field of policing.
