Daniela Barberi is a Colombian Ph.D. student in the Criminology, Law and Society program. She works at the Center for Advancing Correctional Excellence (ACE!) with Dr. Faye Taxman and Dr. Danielle Rudes.
She has an M.A. in Criminal Justice from Penn State University where she obtained the "Penn State Harrisburg Alumni Society Outstanding Graduate Student Award" and the "Criminal Justice Outstanding Master’s Thesis Award." Her B.A. is in Psychology from Universidad de los Andes (Bogota, Colombia)
She has worked in a female prison developing a psychosocial intervention for inmates, and applying and developing projects for vulnerable inmates (e.g. reentry programs for women or working with women in maximum security). She also worked in a public hospital as the Leader of the Committee of Sexual Violence and Abuse, and as a counselor for survivors of sexual assault/abuse.
