Mason's Criminology, law and society doctoral program has advanced both my development as a researcher and professional development broadly. Unlike other criminology programs, Mason's emphasis on policy and practice has made me a competitive candidate in positions that work directly with criminal justice practitioners. This is evident in the Center for Evidence-Based Crime Policy’s two major events, their annual symposium and congressional briefing that are staffed by students and attended by various leaders in the field.
