Criminology, Law and Society Faculty Receive Research Awards

The International Association of Chiefs of Police awarded the Silver and Bronze Excellence in Law Enforcement Research Awards to projects involving faculty and students from the Department of Criminology, Law and Society. The Silver was awarded to to Sacramento Police Department and Sgt. Renee Mitchell for their hot spots policing experiment that involved Professors David Weisburd, Cynthia Lum, Christopher Koper and graduate student Cody Telep. The Prince William County Police Department in Virginia took home the Bronze for their study of the impact of illegal immigration enforcement policies on police and communities, which was co-authored by Professor Christopher Koper and scholars from the University of Virginia.
