Online Degree Completion
Mason undergraduate students have the opportunity to complete a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Criminology, Law and Society completely online by enrolling in Mason Online Campus. The BA in Criminology, Law and Society provides a focused study of the justice system and social, human, and moral problems raised in the justice field. This course of study prepares students for careers in law enforcement, corrections, courts, investigations, juvenile justice, private and homeland security, and related social and human services. With this degree, you will also develop critical thinking skills particularly valuable for law school or graduate programs in Social Sciences, Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice, and demonstrate intermediate proficiency in a foreign language.
- While all students at Mason can take online courses, students who apply to the Mason Online campus will be able to complete all of their coursework online. This program is an ideal opportunity for students who require additional flexibility in their undergraduate degrees, and for students who wish to attend Mason from anywhere in the world.
- This online undergraduate degree experience maintains the same quality of coursework and instruction as available with in-person courses. These courses have been developed by experienced faculty members in collaboration with an instructional designer. The instructors are the same who teach in-person classes in the department, and students are afforded the same access to instructors and academic advising as in-person/on-campus students, through virtual meetings and online office hours.
- While most courses can be completed asynchronously (no set meetings throughout the week), some courses may only be offered synchronously and require weekly meetings at required times.
- Students are encouraged to work with their assigned CLS advisor to plan their course work each semester.
