Doctoral student Lina Marmolejo receives two fellowships

Lina Marmolejo, a doctoral student in the Department of Criminology, Law and Society, has received two fellowships to support her dissertation research on pre-trial decisions and processes in five Caribbean countries.

Marmolejo has received the 2020-21 Ruth D. Peterson Fellowship for Racial and Ethnic Diversity from the American Society of Criminology (ASC). The Ruth D. Peterson Fellowship for Racial and Ethnic Diversity is designed to encourage students of color, especially those from racial and ethnic groups underrepresented in the field, to enter the field of criminology and criminal justice, and to facilitate the completion of their degrees. She has also received the 2020 Graduate Fellowship for Global Research from the ASC Division of International Criminology.
