2020-2021 CLS Honors Seminar research recognized at the Celebration of Student Scholarship
The 2020-2021 Criminology, Law and Society Honors Seminar, led by Dr. Beidi Dong, focused on the causes and consequences of mass shootings in the U.S. Over the course of the year, eight undergraduates learned about the patterns, causes, and responses to mass shootings, and conducted original research on the topic. Collectively, the students' research projects received an honorable mention for Overall Research Impact at the 2021 OSCAR Celebration of Student Scholarship. Congrats!

Video presentations summarizing the CLS honor students' research projects are available here (type 'mass shooting' in the search box to find the eight presentations).

Next year's honors seminar will be led by Dr. Robert Norris, and will examine wrongful convictions and their impact on public perceptions of the criminal legal system.
