Petersen receives Student Paper Award

Kevin Petersen, a doctoral student in the Department of Criminology, Law and Society, has received the 2022 Student Paper Award from the American Society of Criminology’s Division of Experimental Criminology (DEC). His paper Seeing is believing: The impact of body-worn cameras on court outcomes, a cluster-randomized controlled trial in Miami Beach was published in the Journal of Experimental Criminology in 2021.

The DEC Student Paper Award is given for an outstanding paper involving experimental field trials, or theoretical or policy questions in the area of experimental criminology. Kevin will receive the award at the annual meeting of the American Society of Criminology in Atlanta in November.
