As one of the largest colleges at George Mason University, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences stands ready to help students create the changes that will make our communities a better place. The college’s dual focus on educational access and inclusive excellence offers a distinctive higher purpose in preparing students with the research, critical analysis, and communication skills they need to excel in a broad range of careers in our global, knowledge-based economy and in their lives as engaged citizens.

George Mason University has become Virginia’s largest, most diverse, and highest ranked university for innovation by rejecting the traditional university model of exclusivity. We proudly admit every student who is academically ready for our top-tier research environment, while achieving graduation rates that surpass the national norm. At just 50 years old, Mason has earned national and international rankings for a growing list of academic studies and student services.
