
CLS doctoral candidate Kiseong Kuen received the 2023 Outstanding Student Article Award from the American Society of Criminology's Division of Policing. This award is given to a single outstanding paper written on the topic of policing, and was awarded to Kuen for his article titled "What Makes Police Officers Resist Research and Evidence-Based Policing? Examining the Role of Organizational and Environmental Factors."
To receive the award, a student must be enrolled in a recognized PhD program and be the first author on any co-authored paper published or accepted for publication in 2022 or 2023.
Kuen will be recognized at the Policing Division reception and awards ceremony during the annual ASC conference this November.
