
Assistant Professor Daniela Oramas Mora was awarded the 2024 Michael C. Braswell/Routledge Outstanding Dissertation Award by The Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. This honor recognizes an outstanding criminal justice-related dissertation. Entries are judged on the relevance of the research, quality of the theoretical framework, rigor of the research methods, and quality of writing.
Dr. Oramas Mora received her PhD in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Arizona State University in the spring of 2024. Her dissertation was titled "Case Processing and Sentencing Outcomes in Drug Offenses in Florida: Examining the Effect of Bail, Pretrial Detention, Race, Ethnicity, Immigration Status, and the Progressive Prosecution Movement."
