Administration of Justice Honors Students Study Policing

Students from the 2009-2010 Administration of Justice Undergraduate Honors Seminar have been working with Professor James Willis on an original research project focused on policing. Through interviews and ride-alongs with officers, the class is exploring the question: What does good policing look like to the street cop?

As part of the process of getting into the field, the honors students recently visited the Alexandria Police Department, met with Sergeant Brian Thompson and Officer Tony Alvarez, and experienced the department's firearms simulator. The Honors Program is designed to give smart and motivated undergraduate students a special opportunity for a challenging and rewarding educational experience.
