Ajima Olaghere, doctoral student in Criminology, Law and Society, was honored as the 2012 recipient of the John C. and Louis P. Wood Graduate Scholarship at a reception held last Wednesday at the Mason Inn Grand Ballroom. The award recognizes graduate students who achieve a high level of academic performance and are also committed to working within the community. Olaghere is vice president of the Criminology, Law and Society Student Association, and works as a graduate research assistant with the Cochrane Collaboration College for Policy. Her academic work focuses on reentry and the “health of places,” health literacy, justice health, and prisoner education; she teaches and tutors female inmates in Jessup, Maryland.
