Doctoral Students in CLS Publish Article on Policing Research

Doctoral students Breanne Cave, Julie Grieco and alumnus Cody Telep from the Department of Criminology Law and Society have recently published an article on evaluation research in police departments.  This article stemmed from their experience in the Police Research Group (PRG) at Mason, which was established in 2011 with the goal of connecting police scholars with one another and advancing police research at the university.

Towards this goal, faculty affiliated with the PRG approached the editorial staff at Police Practice and Research: An International Journal about publishing an annual student-authored article that would review and synthesize police research. Students in the PRG worked together to identify a research topic and gather data for the paper, while faculty reviewed the paper and gave advice regarding the publication process. The paper is now available online.
