The Police Research Group welcomes Dr. Cody Telep, Associate Professor and Associate Director of the School of Criminology & Criminal Justice at Arizona State University, for a guest lecture titled “Policing and Higher Education: Lessons Learned and Future Directions for Evidence-Based Policing."
Dr. Telep's presentation will examine the past, present, and future of research on the impacts of college education on policing. In particular, he will highlight the role of higher education as a means of enhancing receptivity to evidence-based policing, with a focus on the mismatch between officer beliefs about the value of college and generally low educational standards for American agencies.
