A conversation with exoneree Michelle Murphy

Monday, December 1, 2025 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM EST
Online Location

The Social Justice Collaborative in the Department of Criminology, Law and Society invites the George Mason community to join us for a conversation with exoneree Michelle Murphy.

In 1994, Ms. Murphy was wrongfully convicted for the murder of her 15-month-old son in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and she was ultimately sentenced to life without parole. DNA testing later proved that Ms. Murphy’s confession at the age of 17 was false, and she was exonerated in 2014. You can read more about Ms. Murphy’s case here.

The talk will be held via Zoom on Monday, December 1st from 6:00-7:00 p.m. To help us plan, please RSVP here by Friday, October 31st. We will send the Zoom link to everyone who RSVPs with a “yes.”
