The Criminal Justice Speaker Series is a vibrant component of the MS in Criminal Justice graduate program. The speaker series brings individuals working at the cutting edge of criminal justice issues to George Mason. All members of the Criminology, Law and Society Department are invited to attend.

We are very excited to announce a talk by Kemba Smith Pradia, criminal justice reform advocate and founder of The Kemba Smith Foundation.

Kemba Smith Pradia, once sentenced to 24.5 years in prison for drug-related offenses, became a prominent advocate for criminal justice reform after receiving clemency from President Clinton, and now works as a public speaker, author, and consultant while continuing her activism through various organizations and her own foundation.

Kemba’s appearance at George Mason was made possible in collaboration with Represent Justice. Represent Justice engages audiences through film-based impact campaigns and original storytelling that builds awareness, grows narrative power within system-impacted communities, and sparks collective action. Represent Justice envisions a fair legal system for system-impacted individuals and communities and an end to extreme sentencing and mass incarceration. Learn more at www.representjustice.org.

Light refreshments will be provided beginning at 4:30pm.
