James Forman Jr. to deliver Roger Wilkins Lecture

Yale Law Professor James Forman Jr. will be on campus October 25 to deliver the inaugural Roger Wilkins lecture on the topic "Locking Up Our Own: Race, Class and the Politics of Mass Incarceration."

Mr. Forman is a Yale law school professor who recently won the Pulitzer Prize for his book Locking Up Our Own: Crime and Punishment in Black America. Prior to joining the faculty at Yale, he was a public defender in DC, taught at Georgetown Law and co-founded the Maya Angelou Public Charter School in DC for youth with criminal records. He is also a former member of advisory board for the Criminology, Law and Society Department at Mason.
