Jazmine Jones, 2025

Jazmine Jones

Major: BA in criminology, law and society, minor in legal studies

Hometown: Virginia Beach, VA

Plans after graduation: Jones plans to be a paralegal for five years before going to law school to become a criminal defense attorney.

Most impactful course: CRIM 400: Applied Psychology. “Associate Professor Terry Gudaitis is incredibly knowledgeable and amazing to converse with. She is kind and wants every student to succeed in school and in their career. The assignments were profiling a case and were really fun. Her teaching style and readings provided were extremely helpful in learning the material, and it helped me apply it to the mock casework.”

Relishing Mason Day

Jones said one of her favorite moments every year was the annual Mason Day on campus. She said enjoying the festivities—carnival rides, food trucks, dancing—were a welcome break from her studies. “It was a great way to decompress from school and finals,” she said.
