Adjunct Faculty

Daniel Plank is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Criminology, Law and Society.  He has served with the Alexandria Police Department since 2004 and is currently assigned as the supervisor of the Crime Scene Investigations Section (CSI).  Mr. Plank has a wide base of knowledge in the criminal justice field.  His primary focus in policing with the Alexandria Police Department has been in the Investigation's Bureau.  He has worked as a youth crimes, property crimes and  a financial crimes detective.  Mr. Plank spent time on the Metropolitan Area Fraud Task Force headed by the U.S. Secret Service and was sworn in as a Special Deputy Marshall in order to work federal financial crimes cases.  Mr. Plank is also the Executive Officer of the Hostage Negotiation Team (HNT).  Prior to joining the Alexandria Police Department he worked as a county probation and parole officer in Pennsylvania.  Mr. Plank is also a United States Marine Corps veteran.
