Mario Lijoi

Mario Lijoi

Adjunct Faculty

Mario Lijoi has a blended background consisting of 25 years of federal law enforcement experience and 30 years of military experience which ran concurrently. His experience as a federal agent focused on building partnerships with other federal and state law enforcement agencies while ridding communities of dangerous criminals. His military experience included several commands as well as assignments in aviation, intelligence, homeland defense, emergency response, and other enriching fields. In both careers he worked towards teaching, coaching, and mentoring today’s professionals who follow in his footsteps.

At the core of my teaching philosophy is the knowledge that my students may one day be confronted with the decision to put themselves in harm's way to protect another's life. Its tenets are based on my years of training and fieldwork experience. These are 1) Invest in students and build a professional bond; 2) Use career experiences to supplement the curriculum being taught; 3) Keep students engaged and make learning fun; and 4) Feedback is Essential.
