Mr. Basha is a retired member of the federal Senior Executive Service. He worked for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the U.S. Customs Service for over 36 years. For the last 13 years of his federal service, Mr. Basha was CBP’s principal attorney for enforcement matters. In this capacity he was responsible for providing legal advice to the Commissioner and other senior agency officials on the laws enforced by CBP, including the customs and immigration laws, anti-terrorism laws, drug laws, export control and embargo laws, and money laundering laws.
