Satoko Odagawa advises Criminology, Law and Society students with last names beginning with Gim-Mid. Satoko brings 15 years of advising experience in student affairs at Mason, starting her career in the Office of International Programs and Services advising Mason's international students. She then worked in University Career Services advising Mason students & alumni in their career exploration and development. Satoko originally came to the US from Japan as an undergraduate international student, where her advisors played pivotal roles in her success as a college student. She decided that she wants to do the same to support college students toward their successes. Satoko earned her BS degree from James Madison University in Interdisciplinary Social Science with double minors in Psychology and Early Childhood Education. She earned her Master of Arts in Higher Education from George Mason University.
Satoko truly enjoys supporting Mason students navigate their academic journey, drawing from her advising expertise, resourcefulness around Mason, and her enthusiasm & warmth. She loves meeting people from around the world, trying new foods, and spending time with her friends and family. In her free time, she enjoys the diverse culture scene of the DMV, and she also sings and performs with local a cappella chorus groups.
