William “Bobby” Taylor is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Criminology, Law, and Society. Bobby currently works for the Alexandria City Police Department. He is currently assigned to the Field Operations Bureau, as a Lieutenant overseeing the mid-night Watch Commander shift.
Bobby started with Alexandria in 2006 and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2014 and most recently Lieutenant in 2024. He has been in law enforcement for over 18 years, including administrative, operational, tactical, and investigative experience. He has served in various assignments such as; Patrol, Community Policing, Tactical Training, Quartermaster, and Investigations, and with several specialized ancillary units such as; Field Training, and the Special Operations Team (SWAT). He also serves as an advisor/ participant with several departmental committees.
