How did you choose your degree program?

I have been interested in the criminal justice field for as long as I can remember. Growing up I always wanted to play detective and read many mystery novels. This lifelong interest in this field is ultimately what led to my decision to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Criminology.

How did your academic experiences in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences impact you?

I have had a wonderful academic experience in the College of Humanities and Social Science. Throughout my time with this department, I have been able to expand upon my knowledge, not just specifically related to my major, but also in regard to my communication skills, research skills, critical thinking skills, and people skills.

What accomplishment(s) during your time at Mason are you most proud of?

The accomplishment during my time at Mason which I am most proud of would have to be my successful maintenance of a school-work life balance, while still giving myself time to have fun as well. I have worked full-time as an intern for the last few years and while my job, in addition to school, was definitely stressful at times, I was able to overcome this challenge and maintain success in both my education and career.

Are there faculty or staff members who made a difference during your Mason career? Please give an example of this impact if possible.

I have had so many amazing professors during my time at Mason!

What are your current career plans following graduation? What are your long-term career goals?

The company which I have worked as a full-time employee for over the last few years has offered me a full-time position with the company following my graduation. I am extremely excited and grateful for this opportunity. While I am not completely sure about my long-term career goals as of now, I will see where my new job takes me and plan to go from there.
