Who Is My Academic Advisor?
All CLS students are assigned to an advisor based on the first three letters of their last names:
- Last names beginning with A-Ban are advised by: Kristin Tyburczy
- Last names beginning with Bao-Gil are advised by: Jada Crocker
- Last names beginning with Gim-Mid are advised by: Alexandro Villarroel
- Last names beginning with Mie-Sor are advised by: Olivia Inturias
- Last names beginning with Sos-Z are advised by: Elli Ambros
How Do I Schedule an Appointment?
In-person and virtual advising appointments are scheduled through NavigateMason. Instructions are below for current CRIM major advising, as well as advising for non-CRIM majors (minors, prospective change of majors, etc.).
- Click on the green “NavigateMason” login button or use this link: https://gmu.campus.eab.com/
- Enter your netID and password
- Submit and confirm your password sharing preference before clicking on “Accept”
- Click “Get assistance” on the top right
- Select "Meet with your success team" on the right-hand side
- Select your major advisor to see their calendar
- Choose the day, time, and modality of your appointment
- Add your reason for the appointment in the comments field, as well as any additional information you want your advisor to know.
- Include your cell number if you want a text reminder (optional)
- Click "Schedule". You will receive a confirmation as well as receive an email with details of your appointment.

- Select the service you need ("Advising outside your major" or "Declare/change major/minor")
- Select "Criminology, Law and Society" as the location
- Click on "View individual availabilities" and select your assigned advisor's name to view their calendar.

Appointment Policies/Expectations
- Appointments can be made no less than 8 hours in advance of the selected start time.
- If you are 15 minutes late for your scheduled appointment you must reschedule; no exceptions.
Need to Cancel?
If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so with as much notice as possible. You may cancel and/or reschedule your appointment via NavigateMason, or by e-mailing your advisor in advance.
Drop-In Advising
During the Spring 2024 semester, in-person drop-in advising will be offered Monday-Thursday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. during peak advising periods. Please note that only one advisor will be available on these days. If you want to know when your assigned advisor will be available for drop-in advising, please check their NavigateMason calendar.
Spring 2024 drop-in advising dates:
- January 16-18
- January 22-25
- April 8-11
- April 15-18
Due to previously scheduled advising appointments and other administrative commitments, advisors cannot accommodate drop-ins outside of these days. If you are in need of assistance and unable to meet with your advisor during posted times, please email them directly.
